Marina Mizzau, è nata a Roma e vive a Bologna. E` un'autrice di racconti brevi che raccontano le dinamiche delle relazioni umane attraverso piccole storie quotidiane. Mizzau è stata professore ordinario di psicologia a Bologna e ha pubblicato articoli e saggi sul tema dell'umorismo. I racconti brevi “L’Ostrica” e “Fragole e Fanghi” sono stati pubblicati in una collezione di racconti brevi si chiama I Bambini Non Volano (1992) dall’autrice Marina Mizzau. Tutte le due riflettono il suo punto di vista sul cibo come qualcosa integrante per la cultura ma anche lo usa mostrare il suo cinismo della cultura circondante cibo.
Il primo racconto “L’Ostrica” è un commentario della ossessione dei turisti per un’esperienza reale d’una città, e come usano cibo realizzare questo obiettivo. Per esempio, il protagonista deve mangiare le ostriche, ma sembra che lui voglia mangiarle solo perché è un’opportunità unica; probabilmente non gli piacerebbero le ostriche in una situazione diversa. Questo è chiaro quando l’autrice ripete l’dea che il protagonista è in Parigi con un bicchiere di vino e le ostriche, o che questa situazione esatta è speciale. Avevo quello stesso senso quando sono stato in Italia; sembrava che tutti i turisti volevano fare cose avventurose o nuove in qualche moda semplicemente dire che li hanno fatti ma non perché volevano divertirsi. L’autrice è d’accordo, “Adesso stava raccontando ai compagni di scuola che aveva mangiato le ostriche in un ristorante in Parigi” (9). Sembrava come una competizione tra i turisti trovare il turista più avventuroso.
In “Fragole e Fanghi,” la narratrice sembra cinica, specialmente perché pensa che la data tra la donna e l’uomo finirà in sesso e questo sarebbe un “avventura” per queste persone. Sembra che la narratrice abbia avuto molti rapporti e ora non le piace uscire con i ragazzi.
Questo racconto è semplicemente una presentazione del suo “flusso di conoscenza” non censurato quando lei osserva la gente al ristorante.
