The informant has heard rumors that the rangers buried this treasure in Charles, New Hampshire.
I believe the accepted story is that the Rangers buried what ever treasure the had upon them in Franconia Notch or the surrounding area upon the retreat. Only a handful of men survived the return trip and when the survivors returned to retrieve what they buried… Well u know the rest
