Introduction:
For our project, we collected different forms of folklore related to the mythical creature Slenderman. Not too long ago folklore was strictly transmitted orally, from person to person, generation to generation. It offered wisdom, entertainment and creativity. With the advent of the internet folklore took on a new means of travel. Stories can now travel at the speed of light and folklore can spread like wildfire from computer to computer. The story of Slenderman represents a form of digital folklore and has become a name that sends chills down people’s spines. He is known as a tall, slender, black suit wearing man with no face who gets stalks his victims at night. We decided to dive deeper into the goosebump-inducing mythos that is Slenderman by conducting interviews with people that are familiar with the horrific tales.
