Informant data: MDW is a senior at Dartmouth College studying Biomedical Engineering. She was born in August of 1999 and grew up in Fairfax, Virginia.

Contextual data: MDW has a TikTok account of which contents range from dances, to comedy skits, to drawing names. She has learned several dances such as “Savage”, “Captain Hook”, “Say So” and “Renegade”. She learns certain dance trends based on the criteria that they are easy and by their popularity. She also reported learning the dances primarily through step by step videos created on TikTok. Although she does not follow TikTok influencers that perform these dance trends, she is still exposed to the trends through her ‘for you page’.
