The Wood – Hollow Coves

Genre: Folk

Mood: this summer

I am in a writing mood lately. I haven’t been in a long time (probably because I was super sick and finals and stuff), but it’s good to be back.

I just got late night milkshakes with friends and put on my “The Woods” by Hollow Coves— and I honestly just felt alive. The air was warm, the windows were down, I just had a bomb milkshake.

This summer, I will be going to the woods (aka Dartmouth). This song is what I want my summer to be like: free. I don’t know why an acoustic guitar always makes me feel free and at peace, but bless the guitar.

I wanna be in the woods, sitting by a fire, with my closest friends, forgetting about our classes we will have the next day. This is song is about getting lost, and making a fire in the woods, and feeling better.

“The cold night takes us to a place to escape the chill
Tucked up somewhere in the woods, on a hill
Wake up, feeling the cold in between our toes
Is there a way back? Nobody knows”

I wanna make hot dogs over a fire, and go on road trips to the beach on the coast. I love New England summer. If you do as well, go listen to this song. I highly recommend doing so on a late night drive. TRUST ME, it will be worth it.

Love,

The Music Bean

(p.s. this song is also on my “summer: in the dark” playlist… just saying)
