I worked for Flor at Mohegan Sun two weeks ago. Although I have worked with some amazing bands, they were by far my favorite. These guys were INCREDIBLY nice and a great band to work for and, I got to listen to great music.

“back again” by Flor continually blows me away. The underwater quality to the background beat and slow build of instruments and vocals makes this song both eery and hopeful. The song is one of a kind in the feeling it gives off. You wanna dance but you also just wanna sit and think about what is important in your life. At least, that is what it does to me.

Because of this masterpiece of a song and how wonderful the boys in Flor are, this song is gonna be the Music Bean’s theme song for a little bit.

The Music Bean is taking a break from writing in this blog. This is an EXTREMELY difficult decision because yes, I do see all the emails and DMs I get about listening to your different songs and EPs. I am so happy you have started to share your art with me so I can expose it to my blog.

However, in March I am starting back at Dartmouth College again heading into my end of junior year and senior year (AH). In this time, I am going to be in two huge leadership roles and taking the LSAT. Although this is an exciting time in my life, I know the Music Bean will start feeling more like a job instead of sharing art. And that is not what this blog is.

This blog was intended to share art. To expose the world to music that you all might or might not find on their own. It is creative expression, it is mutual respect and sharing. Not a job, and I never want it to be that way.

So yes, I am taking a break. But, I will be “back again”. I will probably even continue to share songs I really like on my Instagram story. And maybe give an update or two.

Until then, keep creating art and exploring this world. AND check out Flor, they are truly a great band.
