Genre: Folkish Rock
Mood: very very sad
Yesterday morning I woke up with nothing to do. So, I decided to go on a random road trip up to Dartmouth College. I live around 3 hours away,
but I am not one of those people who just randomly sit at home.
I had the best time ever. I stayed on my friend’s floor, got a fried avocado at Trailbreak in Vermont, went to my church, got marinara sauce at late night Collis (if you know, you know).
On the ride back home today, I stopped in Brattleboro, VT. This cute little town has a great coffee shop “Mocha Joe’s” and a record store. When I saw the Hozier CD for only $6, I was hooked.
The Hozier album is great. I suggest you listen to the whole thing. However, Cherry Wine is one of my favorite songs of all time.
Cherry Wine has a stellar melody, the guitar is perfect, there are even bird noises in the background creating a beautiful atmosphere. But, the lyrics are everything. I highly suggest everyone listening to the lyrics intensely as they listen to this song.
The first time I heard this song was when my first boyfriend broke up with me February 13th, 2016. I was heartbroken and this song seemed to be the only thing that understood. We still loved each other, I just was too stubborn to take him back.
To this day, this song touches my heart. If you need to cry during a heartbreak or remember a lost love, give this song a listen.
