To start my “the better days” sections of my blog, I decided to start with one of my favorite songs of all time. However, it is hard to talk about this song and do it justice. I feel like whatever I say about it, won’t be good enough. So, I will just say a few things.
- Elliot Smith is one of my favorite artists of all time. His lyrics are beautiful and heartbreaking.
- The first time I heard this song was in the movie “Stuck in Love”, and it has been one of my favorite songs since.
- I remember listening to this song with a guy I used to care about but he never really knew because I was a stupid teenage girl. We listened to this song full volume in his car with the rain pouring down on an April afternoon. I will never forget that, even though he has probably forgotten me.
- I remember this song (and Elliot Smith), was the first conversation I had with my second boyfriend before we started dating. That connection of Elliot Smith is really what started our relationship.
- Every time I feel like I share this song, I feel like no one understands it. They enjoy it, but they don’t get it. I don’t know, maybe I don’t get it either.
