Genre: Folk
Mood: thinking thinking thinking
Last week, I went to Montana to visit my Grandparents for Thanksgiving. This week I am going to be in Germany (so I am writing this ahead of time).
Anyways, while in Montana, my Grandma let me choose the radio station we listened to on Spotify. I chose The Lumineers radio, obviously. The radio station had all the great Lumineers songs mixed in with other folk songs like it. This song came up repeatedly.
This particular song has been coming in and out of my life very infrequently. I am not sure the first time I listened to it- but the last time I had really listened to this song was at the end of this summer. And now this song takes me back to that time which seems like forever ago.
“They’re playing our song.
They’re playing our song.
Can you see the lights?
Can you hear the hum of our song?”
When you have a song with someone, it is special- it means something. When you share a song with someone, you will NEVER be able to listen to it the same again. These first lyrics of the song get to my soul.
The song basically goes through the start of a relationship which grows and grows until the songwriter cannot see their life without the other person. I am gonna attach the lyrics to this song because it is so important.
Anyways
The folky mood and sound are one of my favorite. This is so elegant in style but also grows at the same time which I love. It is a great song. Just listen to it k thanks.
Love,
