For my audio postcard, I decided to interview my mother. She is a 1.5 generation immigrant from Guerrero, Mexico and left her country when she was 13 years old. She is now a naturalized citizen and mother of three children. This interview is completely in Spanish because I wanted to recreate my mother's experience; when she immigrated to a new country, she did not know the language. My mother is now fluent in English, but she prefers to speak Spanish. I hope that by hearing this audio postcard, the listener will be able to experience my mother's struggle to learn a new language.
