First Draft of Research Paper

While writing my first draft of the research paper, it was very difficult for me to connect Los Tres Grandes to the subject of street art. The most difficult part for me was beginning the writing process for the essay. So, the days before the first draft was due, I sat down and worked out a thesis. At first, it was just stating the significance of street art. It was very general, and not specific to the topic I wanted to discuss. After a few more edits, I mentioned the connection between the street artist and Mexican muralists which was how the struggle of the common people portrayed in their artwork. Although the street artist’s focused more on the people around the world, the Mexican muralists focused on exposing the struggles of the Mexican people during and after the Mexican Revolution. I had the connection between the artist’s, but I still had to make the connection between public art and authorized artwork. When writing this first draft of my essay, I mainly focused on writing out the facts about each of the artists. For this first draft though, I still had not made the connection to the Mexican muralists because I was unsure of what I would be focusing on: the artists’ work itself or how the artists became well-known around the world. Therefore, my first draft of this research paper focused more on the aspect of explaining street art and each of the street artists’ background.
