While being a part of the program for graduate school, he began to talk to high school students about his school to increase enrollment, but took advantage of communicating with them to help teach high school students about college enrollment. In order to spend more time taking classes to finish schools quicker, he changed jobs to work with younger children, and was capable of having a fluid schedule allowing him to focus on his studies as well. Fortunately, he was able to work with Latino students in elementary school and focused on teaching parents about the importance of education in the United States. Due to a lack of importance of education in Mexico, he wanted to really educate parents about the US being different then Mexico, and the importance of opportunities through education. A year later, Jose began to work with middle school students instead doing the same thing.
