In his first video interview since falling ill after ingesting what experts around the world are classifying as a chemical agent, Aleksei Navalny has again blamed Vladimir Putin for his poisoning. In the interview with a prominent Russian Youtuber, Navalny states that this could be due to the fact that, “[Those in power] understood that there were big, big problems threatening them ahead of elections for the State Duma”. Russia is planning on holding national parliamentary elections next year and Navalny is a well known critic of Putin and the Russian government.
