When I first heard the song “All I Ask”, I was struck by the incredible piano melody that coursed throughout the piece. When Adele’s voice comes in, it makes this piece that much more powerful. After looking deeper into the song, I learned that Bruno Mars wrote it. He is a phenomenal musician and artist on his own and I had no idea that he was also penning hit songs for other big stars. Knowing that Bruno Mars, who has Latinx heritage, has had to change certain things about himself (his name in particular) in order to fit a certain image that the public would embrace, I knew I wanted to use this song for our final project.”
