Our first cultural activity of the term: a party with other students here at BNU. Dartmouth students were given the opportunity to mix & mingle with other Beijing Normal University students, most of whom who will later teach Chinese as a foreign language. Over snacks and drinks, students spent hours engaged in deep conversation discussing everything from student life to the meaning of life. It was a truly authentic opportunity to practice the Chinese everybody has been working so hard on, and, hey, free friends on campus. A few ambitious students have already made future plans with their language partners. Chinese spinning classes, anyone?
