Welcome to BNU, and welcome to Beijing. I (爱晓）speak for Shi Laoshi (“Laoshi” – professor in Chinese), Jia Laoshi and Guo Laoshi when I say that we all could not be more excited to welcome the new Dartmouth students to Beijing this fall!
On the first Monday in Beijing, Dartmouth students attended this term’s Opening Ceremony, where they met their professors, Shi Laoshi, Jia Laoshi and Guo Laoshi. Following the opening ceremony, the famous Guo Laoshi (pictured far left, in white) led students on a tour around the BNU campus. The next day was followed by a hearty group lunch consisting of Northwestern Chinese-style cuisine. Standout menu items included kung-pao chicken, lamb skewers, and spicy cabbage.
