“Stone Cold” is both written and performed by Latina musician Demi Lovato. This song was a part of Lovato’s fifth studio album Confident, which was released in 2015. “Stone Cold” was the only single that was released to radio prior to the album’s release. This song showcases Lovato’s vocal range and vulnerability at the same time. It is an incredibly powerful song, and one that captured the attention of millions. “Stone Cold” was the indicator that something big was around the corner for Lovato. Confident was a top ten album in over 15 countries and was nominated for a Grammy.

Demi Lovato, born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is of Mexican descent on her father’s side. She and her family subsequently moved to Dallas, Texas, where she would spend most of her childhood days. Her Latina heritage is something that she has not always been proud of, but has learned to embrace and love throughout the course of her life. In particular, she speaks about the way her Latina heritage shapes the way she views her own self-image. Instead of viewing her body through the eyes of the media, she sees herself for the strong woman that she is – even though she admits that it is a lot easier said than done.

Through her own struggles and triumphs, she has shown the world what it means to be a powerful Latina woman. She showcases this strength through all of her music, whether she is writing songs or performing them.
