Hands-on learning. Real-world impact.

The Senior Design Challenge is a capstone course for seniors at Dartmouth College passionate about tackling real-world challenges using human-centered design.

In this course, students work with organizations across a broad range of industries to create innovative solutions to challenges affecting our local and global community. Students are selected from across the campus for their passion and skills to work on multi-disciplinary teams. They spend the Winter and Spring terms (January through May) applying the design process to an innovation challenge determined in collaboration with a partner organization.

Interdisciplinary collaboration with forward-thinking organizations.

We partner with organizations that are eager to engage with student innovators. Organizations from all industries are eligible, but we especially seek partners whose work focuses on having a positive societal impact (social, environmental, economic, etc.) in and around New Hampshire and Vermont. We collaborate with the Dartmouth Center for Social Impact to match relevant Upper Valley nonprofit organizations with this course.

We invite you to partner with us.

"[The students' work was] exceptional on so many levels... Beyond impressive!"
