Jacob E. Strier

Hi, and welcome to my writing portfolio! I am a rising junior at Dartmouth from New York, majoring in Government with a minor in Jewish Studies. In my classes, I have written essays on topics ranging from Senegalese politics to the economics of agricultural communes (the latter is one of my favorites, so check it out).

The thread throughout my writing is a deep desire to understand different cultures (and my own) through literature, language and social science. Throughout this website red hyperlinks show thematic connections between pieces.

I also serve as a staff news writer for The Dartmouth, where I cover local news and student life. Conducting over 100 interviews in two years, I have gained an intimate knowledge of my community and shared timely stories, some gaining up to 400,000 impressions on Twitter. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring high-quality journalism, going on long walks without my phone and spending time with friends, family and my dog, Joey.
