This Saturday we visited the 798 Art District in the Dashanzi area of Beijing, home to many galleries, art centers, artists’ studios, design companies, and restaurants. It was a gorgeous day with the pollution index at zero. Several of the artists within this beautiful space, such as the Gao Brothers (whose work is pictured below) have had their work featured in galleries across the world and covered in the New York Times. An exhibition of modern Chinese culture and art, 798, bursting with color and personality and genius, is one of the most striking and unforgettable spaces Beijing has to offer.
