Welcome to Publicity at Foco: Responding to Responsibility! This website was designed by Paulomi Rao '19 for Writing 5: Cultures of Place. In the third large writing assignment of the class, she was tasked to create a media-rich space analysis.

In selecting the location, Paulomi picked the upstairs level of Class of 1953 Commons, the main dining hall at Dartmouth College. Commonly referred to as "Upstairs Foco," this space illustrates Dartmouth's multifunction design thinking. In addition, Upstairs Foco presents itself as a unique addition to an otherwise differently styled dining hall.

The main purpose of this wordpress website is to analyze how the conceptual lense presented by Dr. David Fleming, in The Space of Argumentation: Urban Design, Civic Discourse, and the Dream of the Good City relates to the concept of redefining publicity in the community of Upstairs Foco. The most effective way to navigate this sight is to browse through various posts to read up on the introduction, conceptual lens, broader significance, and multimedia evidence. Included within the evidence are time-lapse videos, recorded narration, pictures, and interviews conducted with students who utilize the space. Be sure to leave a comment directly on the website if a claim or argument surprises, confuses, or interests you in any way! Happy browsing!

Key concepts explored throughout the website include community, publicity, space, discourse, & responsibility
