Geisel School of Migrant Medicine Migrant Health Project/ Clínicas generales
The Geisel Migrant Health Project (GMHP), a student-run organization established in 2010 under Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College has partnered with Dr. Stephen Genereaux to ensure that migrant workers in Vermont and New Hampshire have adequate access to healthcare. Their mission entails the provision of comprehensive medical care in a culturally and linguistically sensitive manner in order to increase outreach to migrant workers within the Upper Valley.
The organization offers a biannual clinic at six area farms that tackles medical and mental health screenings, flu shot administration, and clinical referrals. Additionally, they offer biannual dental cleanings and screenings at six local dairy farms as well as providing medical interpreters and community education initiatives. Good Neighbor Health Clinic
The Good Neighbor Health Clinic, based in White River Junction, provides free health and dental care to low-income residents of the Upper Valley. The Geisel Migrant Health Project is currently working to expand their translation services to this clinic in order to best serve the migrant worker community of the Upper Valley.
