About Me

My name is Joshua Ocampo, and I am a ’22 at Dartmouth College. I plan on majoring in Cognitive Science with a minor in Human-Centered Design.

My thought process relies on interdisciplinary learning, and I intend to serve as an intersection between the fields that I’ve studied in the past. In addition to my interests, I have a strong background in the classics, having studied Latin in both poetry and prose forms throughout high school, and I’ve continued to study other languages such as German and Spanish as well.

In my first year of college, I have engaged an increasing amount with art and the creative community here. My preferred medium of choice is video, and this past term I have not only further polished my editing skills but began directing sketches for Dartmouth Comedy Network.

Culturally, I carry my perspective as a Filipino-American with importance. I grew up with English as a second language, and I have become privy to the cultural implications rooted in semantics. It has allowed me to not only navigate my perspective as an American, but also to immerse myself in a culture that I continue to represent.
