This assignment was particularly difficult for me because it was very different from every other essay I had been asked to write in college. This was a history essay, with a huge emphasis on sources (I even had to cite specific lectures) and not as much on analysis. Up until this point, the pieces of writing I did were focused on literary analysis or my own opinion, and while this essay still depended on my perspective, there was no feeling of “everything is a correct answer in a certain perspective.” Instead, while historical events were up for interpretation, they really had happened, they were not fictional.
