Admissions Ambassador Program
Assistant Director, Admissions/Advancement Liaison
2021-Present
My role as Admissions/Advancement Liaison is to serve as a resource to families to help with the admissions process. I answer any questions our applicants and alumni may have about the Dartmouth application, student life, or the admissions process more broadly. I don’t have a say in the decision process, which allows me to be a neutral space, where families can feel comfortable asking any questions or sharing any personal information without worry.
I have advised several hundred prospective students searching for the tools and information needed to apply to highly competitive institutions. My goal in my one-on-one meetings with students is to clarify the admissions process and application materials and to give them the tools to help them identify the skills, interests, and unique qualities that make them strong candidates.
This role also serves as the primary connection between the admissions and advancement office. As such, I spend much of my time fostering partnerships and working closely with colleagues in alumni relations, development, admissions, senior leadership, student life, communications, events, and various systems and services teams.
Program Coordinator
2019-2021
As the Admissions Ambassador Program Coordinator, my primary role was to manage and support over 6,000 alumni and student volunteers. I provided a high level of customer service as manager of the program email account. In this role, I also developed and managed our volunteer resources, facilitated volunteer trainings, supervised student employees, led student volunteer recruitment initiatives, and planned volunteer and admissions yield events.
