My name is Eric and I am an ’18 (Junior) at Dartmouth College studying electrical engineering. I am from Columbia, Maryland where I  live with my mom, dad, younger sister, and younger brother. I enjoy playing sports, especially ultimate frisbee, soccer, and running, cooking, and spending time outside with my friends when I am not busy. I also enjoy board games, logic puzzles, and philosophy (I’m the real life of the party).  After college, I hope to work as an engineer somewhere outside of the United States, and at some point want to teach math or engineering.

Me llamo es Eric y yo soy un ’18 en Dartmouth College estudiando ingenieria eléctrica. Lo siento si este es español malo; no he estudiado español  desde fue un estudiante de primer año. Voy a tratar de traducir de memoria y no de Google. Soy de Columbia, Maryland, donde yo vivo con mi madre, padre, hermana menor, y hermano menor. Yo enjugo jugando deportes, especialmente Ultimate, fútbol, y corriendo, cocinando, y pasando tiempo en la naturaleza con mis amigos. Yo también enjugo  juegoes de mesa, puzzles lógicos, y filosofía. Desdues de colegio, espero que trabar como un ingeniero en un país extranjero, y quiero enseñar matemáticas o ingenieria.

I speak a little bit of Spanish, but have never gotten the chance to use it for an extended period of time outside of the classroom, which is something I look forward to doing on this trip. I really enjoy working with my hands and building things, which led to my participation in Habitat for Humanity builds throughout high school and college, and which was also a motivating factor in my interest in Bridges to Community and this trip. I am excited to get to know local Nicaraguans on this trip, as I both enjoy and see value in friendship and attempting to understand other people.

Yo hablo un poco de español, pero nunca he lo hablado para mucho tiempo fuera de clase. Yo quiero hablar mucho en español durante este tripe. Yo enjugo mucho trabajando con mis manos. Por eso, participo con la organización “Habitat for Humanity”, y “Bridges to Community” me interesa mucho. Estoy emocionado para conocer nicaragüenses durante este tripe, porque you quiero mas amigos y entender otras culturas.

Other random things about me: I have a very strange sense of humor and enjoy most jokes (or attempts at jokes, which is usually the category that mine fall in). My family has a really cute, fluffy  dog named Lily. I really enjoy thinking and talking about philosophy, and am almost always interested in hearing fresh perspectives and engaging in random/seemingly inane discussions.
