During the summer of 2021 I interned with NPR’s National Desk and freelanced for the desk in the fall. I pitched, reported, conducted research, booked guests and cut tape for my own and national correspondents’ broadcast and digital stories.
I was a part of the national desk team that covered the June 2021 Surfside, FL condo collapse and I contributed a story with NPR special correspondent Melissa Block to the network’s special coverage of the 20th anniversary of 9/11. I pitched and reported digital stories, which you can check out below. My stories were syndicated to 59 public radio stations and were picked up by the NPR Morning Edition Live Blog and the Flipboard news aggregator app. My story on AAPI mayoral candidates was featured in Politico’s Massachusetts Playbook and on the Asian American Journalists Association Top 10 Works Essential to 2021 List.
