Forestry

We studied forestry both in Maine and New Hampshire. This took us through amazing places such as Baxter State Park and Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest. I wrote journal entries during this time, but they were all hand written.

For this group project, we ran several days of data collection focusing on Red Spruce and Balsam Fir dominant stands as well as looking at the borders crossing over into hard woods such as Maples and American Beech. Using this data we investigated the consequences of climate change on future carbon storage along these ecotones, including acid rain impacts over the past decade.

Here are a couple snapshots of our data collection in one of our 20 m radius plot circles in Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest. It involved a lot of tree hugging 🙂
