This website contains many projects related to the things that I have learned about in my “Politics of Development” in Nicaragua class (LACS 20) in the Latin American, Latino, and Caribbean Studies Department at Dartmouth College. Some goals of the class include learning about many aspects of Nicaraguan culture, history, and politics and thinking critically about global service. A group of my classmates and I will be headed to Nicaragua for the Cross Cultural Education and Service Program (CCESP) sponsored by the Dartmouth Center for Service, where we will partner with an NGO called Bridges to Community on Community Development (CD) and Community Health (CH) teams. I have learned so much this term, and I am so excited to share all of my new knowledge with all of you through this ePortfolio site!
Este sitio contiene muchos proyectos que están relacionados con las cosas que he aprendido en mi clase sobre “La Política del Desarrollo” en Nicaragua (LACS 20) en el Departamento de Estudios Latinoamericanos, Latinos, y Caribeños en Dartmouth College. 1. About Nicaragua: A broad look into the higher education system in Nicaragua.

2. Final Project: A presentation that gives an in-depth look into higher education in Nicaragua, assesses the impact of the distinct culture of the autonomous regions on the unique education offered at URACCAN, and proposes a cultural-exhange program for URACCAN students.

4. Blog: An informal platform for me to share my thoughts about various topics that we discussed in class throughout the term. Posts cover my thoughts on travel and tourism, international non-profit organizations, conducting ethnography, environmental issues, health care, our final projects, and some final reflections on the term.
