First-Year Seminar: Joan of Arc

I really enjoyed this class, which as a first-year seminar had a very heavy writing focus. As such I have not posted every paper that I wrote about Joan, only a few of my favorites. You can download PDFs of those papers here.

The Nullification Trial: A Study in Compromise, May 2018. This paper aims to deconstruct the political aims of the Nullification trial, which took place 25 years after Joan’s death and publicly acquitted her of the crimes for which she had been executed.

Investigating Nature in the Middle Ages, May 2018. My final paper for this class attempts to trace evolving views of the natural world in the Latin Middle Ages through analysis of academic texts, artistic productions, and oral storytelling.
