Reflection

One of the main writing elements that I had to adapt for this assignment was the way in which I presented evidence. In most papers, while there may be a few images or charts used to support claims, this assignment put more emphasis on using a wide array of media to support my argument, and made me put more thought into how not only the images used, but the way in which they were presented might affect my message.  Choosing colors, font size, and page arrangement were also new factors to consider, as this was a much more visual assignment than the previous two. The fact that information was presented on multiple web pages, rather than in one continuous paper, placed more emphasis on the logical organization of ideas. Analyzing textual evidence was still an important part of this assignment, but I had to adapt these analysis skills to draw relevant information from my own observations of a physical space. While this project used a different format from the previous two, I was still required to establish a motive, central argument, and a greater significance. I also had to support my argument with convincing evidence, provide proper citations, consider my audience, and organize my thoughts in a logical manner. This new format reinforced my understanding of the skills necessary to write a more traditional essay by making me look at them from a different angle.
