Reflection

This project was a nice change of pace from the last research intensive paper.  I found that the time I spent combing through research journals was replaced by time spent collecting mostly original pieces of media for the website.  I found this enjoyable and I was really able to collect evidence that strongly supports my claim and avoids being too superfluous.  This process of collecting evidence is something that was common to all three projects, and its purpose was to advance a motivated claim, which is the reason for writing almost everything.  The addition of many different types of media (for my purposes it was mainly photos and audio clips), posed a challenge that I had not thought of when I started.  I pretty much just threw everything on the website at first until I became aware that the most effective way to use media is to create redundancy and reinforcement across the platforms.  I tried to make it so that every argument or claim that a piece of media proposes, appears twice, so that somebody skimming through pictures and words and somebody who listens to every clip and follows all the links get the same basic ideas across.  Overall this website was a little more fun to create and be creative with than a long research paper, however that is not to say that each does not have its own advantages and disadvantages.
