Project 3

The assignment for Project 3 for this class was to create a media-rich website that made an argument, based in concepts of spatial design, about a space on Dartmouth’s campus. Our intended audience was the audience of a popular podcast, called 99% Invisible, so it was extremely crucial to make our analysis relevant and and our conclusions useful to people outside of Dartmouth.

For my project, I created a webpage about the Top of the Hop, a large, multifunctional, room on the top floor of the Hopkin’s Center at Dartmouth. I analyzed the space through Ray Oldenburg’s critical lens of third spaces and used a webpage to house media content, survey data and analysis, as well as my essay and argument for this project. To read through my writing process, from the drafting stages to the final product, click through the other links under this page.
