Author Bio

Hey Everyone! I’m Ale and I was born in La habana, Cuba. When I was about four years old my family and I moved to Spain, then the United States, where we settled down in Miami, FL and we have been here ever since. Having lived in extremely warm humid subtropical all my life, it is very clear to see how my transition to the northeast is a bumpy one. My daily struggles include; carrying around my winter jacket when the temperature drops below 40, wearing two pairs of pants when the temperature drops below 30, and FONA or Fear Of Never Acclimating. But despite all that I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. Here I plan to major in biology with a concentration in ecology and biochemistry and I am a part of club swim. Most importantly I’ve been fortunate to meet people who are like family, that makes this small New England town feel more like home.

I have always had a relationship with writing. Throughout high school I realized that I was better at it and enjoyed it more than doing math or physics homework. It wasn’t until I had my writing 5 class with Professor Francis that all restrictions of writing, that had been placed on me during high school, were broken down and I became more confident in my writing and realized that writing is truly something I enjoy.
