Uma M. Ramesh is majoring in Sociology modified with African and African American Studies at Dartmouth College. She is a member of the Class of 2020. Ramesh is particularly interested in social and developmental psychology, as well as the psychology of mental illness. After graduating college, she hopes to pursue a career in global health.

During the 2016-17 school year, Ramesh researched in Dartmouth’s Cognitive Science and Education Lab through the Women in Science Project. She also researched the statistical methods commonly used to quantify iron deficiency prevalence through an internship with the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation. During the 2017-18 school year, she served as a Global Health Fellow with Dartmouth’s Dickey Center for International Understanding.
