Welcome to my portfolio!
I am Piper Gilbert, a Dartmouth AB ’25 and Thayer BE ’26 & MEM ’27.
For my Bachelor of Arts (AB), I majored in Engineering Sciences and minored in Astronomy. I explored engineering through numerous mechanical, electrical, and software projects, and I dug into observational astronomy through the Physics/Astronomy study abroad in Cape Town, South Africa. My research merged these disciplines; I worked to develop a modular suite for in situ, citizen-run observations of Earth’s magnetic field.
For my Bachelor of Engineering (BE), I am studying Systems Engineering. My Thayer courses center around control theory, embedded systems, and systems modeling. In 2024, I interned at GEOST, a Rocket Lab Company, which allowed me to delve into my love of modeling and tracing requirements for complex systems related to electro-optical satellite payloads. In 2025, I interned at Honeywell Aerospace, and I transitioned to the “test side” of systems engineering, focusing on designing and troubleshooting test hardware electronics for NASA’s Orion program and advanced defense systems. My culminating BE experience is allowing me to approach a new facet of aerospace engineering through NASA’s RASC-AL competition, innovating new lunar surface power and PMAD architectures.
For my Master of Engineering Management (MEM), I am focusing on data analytics and project management. I am excited to grow as a technical leader, communicator, and collaborator through the Thayer program and my Tuck Business School electives. I will return to Honeywell Aerospace in 2026 for another internship with the test hardware design team, where I will contribute to engineering design work and gain hands-on experience with project management in the aerospace industry.
I am passionate about space exploration and leadership. I am a driven, self-directed, and detail-oriented worker with a history of academic excellence and ambitious projects completed at the highest standards. I thrive autonomously and on creative, collaborative teams that allow me to explore my individuality and contribute in unique ways — like my Shakespeare acting troupe and my competitive rocketry team.
Throughout my life, I have been driven by my desire to explore and create. My projects for classes, internships, and personal enjoyment exemplify this internal motivating force. I hope you enjoy my work!
