About Me

My name is Paul, and I’m a fourth-year student at Dartmouth College. My general interests lie mainly in mathematics and adjacent fields, though I am excited to learn about all kinds of other things as well. Recently I’ve had a growing interest in functional analysis and manifold theory (hence the background image), especially as they pertain to modern physics – it is my hope to be able to dedicate ample time in the coming year to exploring these areas.

I am also a Jack Byrne scholar at Dartmouth, and I have used some of the funding to visit Barcelona in the spring of 2022 to learn about modern research in numerical semigroups, working under Professor Maria Bras-AmorĂ³s of Universitat Rovira i Virgili in Tarragona. This past summer, I also participated in a mathematics Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in dynamical systems at Northwestern University, studying the chaotic dynamics of surface group actions on the three-dimensional torus.

In my free time, I enjoy various outdoor and physical activities, such as running, climbing, and downhill skiing. This winter, I hope to learn to snowboard for the first time. My favorite study spots on campus (and the places where you’ll find me most often) are the Byrne scholar study room in Kemeny Hall and the fourth floor of Fairchild Tower.
