TempestĀ is an acoustic modeling algorithm that approximates the sonic behavior of virtually modeled 3D objects using ray tracing. By dynamically adjusting the speed of sound for each ray at each point in time, the impulse response of solid objects can be approximated. TempestĀ has a variety of applications and is currently being developed as a design aid for sound artists and will be exported as a plugin for Rhino 3D in April 2020.
