As part of Introduction to Engineering (Engs 21), I formed part of a team who developed a floating, self-correcting drink holder for pools, spas and hot tubs. Drawing inspiration from the naval industry, we designed a semi-spherical counter-weighted system that kept the drink level and cold while floating in turbulent water. We received a provisional patent for our design.
