The film Her sparks many people to wonder if they could actually find themsleves falling in love with a voice in a box that you talk to everyday. I think the use of Scarlett Johansson’s voice as the box puts an image into the audiences heads that this girl is attractive. As technology advances it will begin to replace or hold a companionship value in everyones life. I also feel that it would be able to fall in love with the voice like Scarlett’s rather than the voice of a robotic sounding siri or alexa found in our devices today. I feel that Theodore fell in love with Samantha because of the availability and trust that she can take on. Having something to always be able to lean on when you are going through a rough time in your life means a ton and that is why I believe he began to fall in love with this voice inside a box. Personally, I feel that it is impossible for humans to fall in love with AI but people can be tricked by it to think they are in love due to the easy accessibility and always being able to rely on it to be there to pick you up.
