The position that I am in when it comes to the feminist movement is what I would call a follower, but I do not go out of my way to voice my opinion. I also believe that the feminist movement is still needed in today’s world in seeing that there are still changes that need to occur in society today. I think that there still could be improvements in the treatment of women and improvements to find the true equality between the sexes, therefore feminist movement is very important and should be more prevalent. The term feminism to me means one is fighting or perhaps arguing for gender equality for women. I also believe that one can not be called a feminist and still believe women should have equal rights with their male counterparts. In terms of myself having the label of a feminist is confusing. I believe I am not a feminist, but I do believe in equal rights for all people. I feel that labeling yourself as a feminist is a personal opinion and I feel that I would not consider myself a feminist, I believe what the feminist movement stands for is very important and that there should be more improvements. With that being said I also feel that there have been many great things accomplished by this movement since the year 1970 and I believe it will only continue to improve as time moves forward.
