23Springim Recap <3

I’m making myself write now.

It’s June 17th, and I’m bored and lonely. I’m at college, interim, alone. None of my friends are back on campus, and I find myself cycling between YouTube and Netflix, seeing if there’s something…anything…that can cure me of my boredom.

Then I got reminded that I have a somewhat blog where I can write my thoughts and feelings, kind of like a digital diary…except it’s public and open to anyone who wants/dares to read it. Kinda crazy.

I guess my 23S (New York springim trip, technically.) blog post is going to be this. So let’s get started and take a walk down memory lane. Mainly because I want to.

So Cam and I went to New York for Spring Interim and it was everything I could have asked for and more. I had never been to New York before, and I was honestly quite scared because of everything I’ve heard…but being there with Cam, Helena, and Erik was something I will never forget.

More of Cam and I at Central Park.

We got ramen at Ichiran(?) ramen, and it was pretty freaking good ramen. It was also right before we went to the MET Opera (something I had been looking forward to the whole trip).

Surprisingly, I am a big performing arts person…well, big art person in general. Going to see an opera was one of the things I have had on my bucket list since I was young…

More on this on my next blog post lmao I need content.

Then Helena joined us for day 3! We went to the MET (metropolitan museum of art)…another place I’ve always wanted to go to since I was young. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see everything…this museum is huge…much bigger than the Getty center in LA……….I’ll have to come back someday T-T.

Some of the most joyful moments I’ve had this year came from the New York trip, and being at a bingsu cafe with Helena and Cam has to be one of them. We talked, joked around, argued about who was going to be the person to eat the remaining banana slices, etc. It was a lot of fun, and it’s something that I’ve always wanted to experience with friends.

Helena couldn’t join us for this, but Erik could! We went to watch a Broadway show after a long day of getting lunch and wandering around Manhattan/Times Square…looking at clothes, walking, thinking about our lives, and generally enjoying the feeling of being in a big city with friends. I didn’t want this trip to end.

But as all good things do, the trip did end up coming to an end. Although there were some rough patches throughout the trip, and we definitely strayed away from the planned itinerary, I enjoyed the trip so much, and couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

^ Within 30 minutes of us taking this photo, Cam got verbally harassed by a young girl.
