Podcast

This podcast was made with the intention to educate the audience about climate change. One of the main issues surrounding climate change is that many people don’t see the actual effect humans are already having on the planet. To attack this issue I narrate a story in which I got to experience first hand the effects of a warmer planet. I narrate this experience to make sure the listeners know that this is a very real thing and the impact although not easy for everyone to see is in fact there. Later in the podcast I use several outside clips from experts to try to explain some important aspects of climate change. At the end of the podcast I go and try to motivate the listeners to take action to help solve this issue, or at least slow down the problem.

After giving the audience a lot of information about global warming and how bad it is for us I give the audience several suggestions on ways to fight this. Some of the proposed solutions vary in levels of difficulty or effort required. As long as people start taking action, even if it is making small changes there will be a positive change. This podcast is intended for a broad audience with different scopes of influence, anyone in this audience should be capable of taking one of the suggested actions I recommend.

This podcast accomplishes the goal of sharing a lot of information about climate change. A podcast makes it harder to create visual images of the effects our actions are causing but this podcast at least beings to do this. The main accomplishment is that it explains some complicated aspects of global warming so that more people can understand the problem and therefore get involved in fixing it. Moving forward with making other podcasts I would look to make them shorter. This podcast could have been split into different episodes that go a little more in depth into several topics and are each reduced in length.
