Week 5: Service-Learning Organizations

Thinking about responsible service, the role of international service organizations, and the organizations that we’ve worked with, heard from, or learned about: Bridges to Community, Compas de Nicaragua, and the Fabretto Foundation

Week 6: Ethnography

Thinking about the purpose of ethnography and how to conduct it properly, with a focus on my oral history interview with my father and my upcoming interviews on maternal mental health with women in Nicaragua

Week 7: Under Fire Film

Thinking about my response to the thriller Under Fire, about three American journalists documenting the Nicaraguan Revolution

Week 8: Health Care in Nicaragua

Thinking about health infrastructure and access to care in Nicaragua, especially as it relates to rural Nicaragua.

Week 9: Class Presentations

Thinking about two of the final presentations that I saw in class, one on traditional medicine and another on autonomous regions and border disputes

Week 10: Final Reflections

Reflecting on my experiences in LACS 20 and looking forward to the CCESP this December.
