  • Social context: HJ told this to me in a conversation about symbols of good and bad luck. He said it could be used to make him laugh at any time but could also be used for a laugh when one experiences the unfortunate circumstance of having a bird poop on them.

“…the other one I know is when a bird poops on you, apparently it’s good luck. And I heard it one time when my dad told it to me and I thought it was really funny.

Collector’s comments:

I was told this as a child when I actually did get pooped on by a bird. It certainly cheered me up during an otherwise unfortunate situation.
