The pilot of the Senior Design Challenge is currently being implemented as a two-term course at Thayer currently known as ENGS15.01 (18W) and ENGS15.02 (18S). In preparation for this, the fall was primarily spent preparing the course: recruiting project partners and students, designing the curriculum, and organizing logistics. Meanwhile, the winter and spring have seen the execution of the course. The winter started with a general introduction to the course, the setting up of teams and a design research phase, whereas the spring has been fully dedicated to project development, primarily continued research, and prototype iteration. A principal focus was to create a dynamic learning experience by incorporating design sprints, guest lectures, and teamwork to the classroom environment and amidst the project-work that the class revolves around.
