At the conclusion of the Senior Design Challenge experience, students will be better equipped to:

  1. Conduct ethnographic research (through techniques like observation and interviewing);
  2. Analyze primary and secondary research data to frame and articulate specific problems and opportunities;
  3. Generate a large and diverse set of solution ideas;
  4. Create physical and digital prototypes to test ideas with users;
  5. Communicate ideas through written, verbal, and multimedia presentations;
  6. Manage a complex project, including setting timelines and milestones;
  7. Recover from setbacks and reframe them as learning opportunities;
  8. Effectively collaborate with teammates from different disciplinary backgrounds.

We are pleased to report that written student reflections are already showing evidence of students’ attainment of these outcomes.
