A cyborg is neither completely human or completely machine, the individual is able to capture both states as a hybrid. A more definite description of a cyborg is an “organism with both biological and technological components”. This definition can be be interpreted in different ways.
One sense is how cyborgs are portrayed in the media. Usually these characters are considered as a completely new form of life and are artificially intelligent beings that also encapsulate human traits and emotions, rather than a robot that is purely machine. This representation of cyborgs can be applied to Arnold Schwartzenegger’s portrayal as the Terminator, Ava from Ex Machina, and Yod from He,She,and It. All of these characters are considered a completely new form of life that is a balance between masculine and human.
The second interpretation of the term is more technical, in the sense that humans in various situations can be seen as cyborgs. Any sort of machine like implant/addition on a human is seen as the fusing between a human and machine and is therefore a cyborg.
