Today, there are over 58 million Latinos living in America. Latinos make up 18 percent of the population in The United States, but only 3 percent of speaking characters in films during the last decade. The problems regarding a lack of Latino representation is due to the fact that many film studios do not have enough Latinos working for them and Latino stereotypes have continued to play a major role in typecasting individuals.
