Meet Your Professor

Engineering professor Eugene Korsunskiy teaches "Design Thinking," "Design Ethics," and "Senior Design Challenge" courses at Dartmouth. He is also Co-Director of the Design Initiative at Dartmouth (DIAD), a project dedicated to supporting the community of designers on campus and beyond. He was recently the recipient of Dartmouth's Woodhouse Excellence in Teaching Award and the Thayer Excellence in Teaching Award.

Prior to coming to Dartmouth, Prof. Korsunskiy taught at the University of Vermont, and at Stanford University, where he helped to develop the "Designing Your Life" course. He is also co-founder of SparkTruck, a makerspace-on-wheels which has completed several cross-country trips and inspired kids all across the US to tinker, make stuff, and grow their creative confidence.

Prof. Korsunskiy lives in Vermont with his partner, dog, and two horses. He likes to do triathlons, but only when the weather is nice. You can reach him at eugene.korsunskiy@dartmouth.edu.

"Eugene is the best professor anyone could ask for and his fun and joyful persona makes the class extremely enjoyable and insightful at the same time."

"Thank you for such an entertaining and educational class! I enjoyed every minute and am very grateful to have had a professor who made online classes (which are usually somewhat awkward) feel easy and natural. Preparing all of these lessons cannot have been easy, and I’m very grateful for the effort and thought you put in to making sure all of us had a fabulous first three hours of our day. I think I speak for the whole class when I say that despite being together for a short time, you taught us an immeasurable amount and gave us a leg up on designing our lives and the world around us."

"The professor was the best part of this CID Program. I'm truly grateful to professor and Dartmouth College for providing such a wonderful opportunity to explore design thinking in our high school years. This definitely had a immense impact in my thinking style."
